Windows 7 with Multitouch Interface

Perhaps an interesting but unsurprising move, Microsoft plans to add multitouch interface to Windows 7 which will be released late 2009. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the iPhone-like touchscreen feature at The Wall Street Journal’s “D: All Things Digital” forum. A demonstration showed that the multitouch technology can process not just a mere touch but multiple simultaneous inputs like painting with many fingers at the same time.

However, this move by Microsoft is very predictable considering that multitouch technology has already been everywhere. And still iPhone is probably the best thing that ever happened. Moreover, it is expected that Apple could have the same or even much ahead features on its computers, and would be released quite possibly much earlier than Windows 7.
